 In
de orgelhal van de Royal Danish Academy of Music te Kopenhagen
(DK) plaatsten wij een 3-manualig orgel dat is gebouwd door J.C.
Bishop & Son in 1877. Het is afkomstig uit winkelcentrum "Lalaport"
te Tokyo (JP). Daar stond het sinds 2006, maar het moest op last
van de autoriteiten worden verwijderd vanwege aangescherpte
wetgeving in verband met aardbevingsgevaar.
Bishop bouwde in 1877 een tweemanualig instrument in Westborne
Park Baptist Church te Londen. Het was geplaatst op een
balustrade in separate kassen, links en rechts van een venster
in de westwand. Al in 1884 kwam er een uitbreiding met een derde
manuaal. In 1908 werd het instrument verkocht aan de Cricklewood
Baptist Church te Londen, waar het op een balustrade in een nis
werd geplaatst. In 1995 werd het vanwege kerksluiting door ons
aangekocht.
Na restauratie onder advies van Jacques van Oortmerssen werd het
instrument in Tokyo geplaatst op een balustrade, in het atrium
het nieuwgebouwde winkelcentrum "Lalaport". Aangezien het
instrument nauwelijks over een kas beschikte, is ervoor gekozen
het van een andere, historische kas te voorzien. Deze kas is
afkomstig van een door Forster & Andrews in 1865 gebouwd orgel
voor Castle Gate Chapel te Nottingham. De beschildering in Arts
& Crafts-stijl (oorspronkelijk vermoedelijk aangebracht na
1920), is gereconstrueerd door J. van den Berg te Lienden en
Helmer Hut te Beerta. De frontpijpen werden voorzien van een
imitatie bladgoud beschildering. Het pedaal kreeg een nieuwe
sleeplade waarop drie stemmen staan. De Open Diapason 16 ft
(hout) werd geplaatst op een eigen lade. Dit is de originele
lade, die nu mechanisch werd aangesloten (was pneumatisch). Op
het Great werd een nieuwe Mixture 3 rks geplaatst, in plaats van
een niet meer aanwezige Viola 8 ft. |

 In
the "orgelsallen" of the Royal Danish Academy of Music in
Copenhagen (DK) we placed a three manual organ built by J.C.
Bishop & Son in 1877. It comes from shopping mall "Lalaport" in
Tokyo (JP). There it stood since 2006, but it was ordered by the
authorities to be removed because of stricter legislation on
earthquake hazard.
In 1877 Bishop
built a two manual organ for Borne Park Baptist Church in West
London. It was built on a balcony in devided cases, left and
right of a window in the west wall. Already in 1884 it was
enlarged with a third manual. In 1908 the organ was sold to the
Cricklewood Baptist Church in London, where it was placed in an
alcove. After the closure of the church in 1995 we purchased the
instrument.
After restoration in coorporation with organconsultant Jacques
van Oortmerssen, the instrument was placed in Tokyo on a balcony
in the atrium of the newly built shopping mall "Lalaport".
Since the instrument did not have a useful case, it was decided
to use another historical one. This comes from an instrument
built by Forster & Andrews in 1865 for Castle Gate Chapel in
Nottingham. The painting in Arts & Crafts style (probably
originally made after 1920), was reconstructed by J. van den
Berg (from Lienden) and Helmer Hut (from Beerta). The front
pipes were painted in imitation gold. The pedal division got a
new chest with three stops. The Open Diapason 16 ft. (wood) was
placed on the original chest, now mechanically connected (was
pneumatic). On the Great was a new Mixture 3 rks inserted
instead of a no longer existing 8 ft. Viola. |
